1. especially/particularly
舉幾個(gè)例子:
(1)used to emphasize that something is
more important or happens more with one particular thing than others強(qiáng)調(diào)某事更重要或更易發(fā)生;何況:
例:
I never liked long walks, especially in
winter. (我本就不喜歡長(zhǎng)途跋涉,冬天更甚。)
Art books are expensive to produce,
especially if they contain color illustrations. (一般藝術(shù)圖書(shū)造價(jià)就貴,有彩圖的更貴。)
(2)to a particular high degree or much
more than usual(喜歡、討厭、重要)到一定地步;特別:
I was especially fond of chocolate
biscuits.(我特別喜歡吃巧克力餅干。)
(3)for a particular person or thing特地為……:
She bought a new pair of trainers
especially for her trip. (為了此次旅行,她特地新買(mǎi)了雙球鞋。)

2. specially: 是口語(yǔ)用法,在有些表達(dá)中,可代替especially
例:
I bought it specially for you. (我特地給你買(mǎi)的。)
We specially wanted to see the Eiffel Tower

4. above all:used to emphasize that something is
more important than all the other things you have mentioned 最……

Get plenty of sleep, eat lots of good food,

John felt sad, embarrassed, but above all
angry that Anna could treat him like this.(安娜這么對(duì)他,約翰感到傷心、尷尬之余,最是氣憤。)

Swimming and soccer are fun, but I like

She told no one, least of all her husband,

7. of all people: used to say that
someone is the person you would least or most expect to do something這是個(gè)口語(yǔ)用法,你覺(jué)得某人最應(yīng)該或最不應(yīng)該做某事 ;used when sb has said or done something you think is very surprising
or unlikely for them to do or say某人說(shuō)了不妥的話(huà)或做了不妥的事時(shí),可以用這個(gè)短語(yǔ),含有一定的詰責(zé)的語(yǔ)氣。
例:
You of all people shouldn't be calling him
