這次我們來看看“惹麻煩”、“搗亂”、“故意找茬”的英文怎么說。

1. cause/create problems: to cause a problem, even if you do not intend to

例:

After a while, John started causing problems in class. (過了一會兒,約翰就開始在班上搗亂。)

They have two good backs who can cause problems for our team's defense. (他們隊(duì)有兩個很厲害的后衛(wèi),會給我們后防制造麻煩。)

When he drinks too much, he causes problems. (他一喝多就鬧事。)

2. cause/make/spell trouble: to deliberately cause problems, especially by starting arguments or fights

例:

Don't give him another drink, or he'll start causing trouble. (別讓他再喝了,他再喝就要闖禍。)

It's not just gang members that cause trouble, it's middle- and upper-class kids too. (不只是幫派分子會惹是生非,中產(chǎn)階級、上流社會的孩子們也會。)

補(bǔ)充troublemaker: n. someone who deliberately causes problems or arguments

例:

The violence was started by a small group of troublemakers. (這次暴力事件是由幾個鬧事者引起的。)

He had the reputation of being a troublemaker in high school. (他念高中時(shí)是個出了名的搗蛋鬼。)

3. make life difficult: to deliberately cause problems and make it difficult for someone to do something, for example in order to punish them or persuade them to do something

例:

They can't actually stop us, but they could make life difficult. (他們阻止不了我們,但是他們可以給我們搗亂。)

4. give somebody a hard time: to deliberately treat someone badly and cause trouble for them, for example by criticizing them, complaining, or asking them a lot of difficult questions

備注:''give somebody a hard time''是非正式的說法。

例:

When I first came here everyone gave me a really hard time, because I was the first woman to run a department. (我剛來的時(shí)候,誰對我都沒好臉色,因?yàn)槲沂沁@兒的第一個女部門經(jīng)理。)

5. rock the boat: to cause problems by changing or trying to change a situation that other people do not want to change

備注:''rock the boat''是非正式的說法。

例:

We have a pretty good life here. Why rock the boat? (我們在這兒過得很好,你們?yōu)槭裁磥頁v亂?)

The system isn't perfect, but it's been this way for a long time and nobody wants to rock the boat. (這個系統(tǒng)不完美,但是已經(jīng)用了好久了,沒人想費(fèi)那個勁兒換別的系統(tǒng)。)
