前兩講
介紹的詞句還都是用以形容“小害怕”的東西，當(dāng)你被嚇得“毛骨悚然”時(shí)，英文又該怎么表達(dá)呢？
1. make your hair stand on end: if
something such as a story or account makes your hair stand on end it makes you
very frightened
備注：''make your
hair stand on end''是較口語(yǔ)化的用法。
例：
Wait until I tell you about the murder -
it'll make your hair stand on end.（我要跟你說(shuō)的這個(gè)謀殺案，保證你嚇得頭發(fā)根根直立。）
I've heard rumors about how the captain
disciplines his crew... things to make your hair stand on end.（我聽(tīng)傳言說(shuō)這個(gè)船長(zhǎng)怎么懲處船員，那手段嚇得你頭發(fā)倒豎。）

2. send shivers down your spine: if
a thought or experience sends shivers down your spine, it makes you feel very
frightened especially because it involves someone or something that is very
evil 毛骨悚然，后脊發(fā)涼

When you think of what happened in that
house, it sends shivers down your spine.（想想發(fā)生在這所房子里的事，你會(huì)毛骨悚然的。）
Mere mention of his name is enough to send
shivers down the spine of even the most battle-hardened fighter.（僅僅提到他的名字，就足以讓千錘百煉的斗士們膽寒。）
