英文里的“傷心、難過、沮喪”還能怎么表達(dá),我們來看看。

1. heartbroken : extremely sad and sorry because something very bad has happened, especially to someone or something that you love or care about very much

例:

When her parents separated, she was heartbroken. (爸媽離婚的時(shí)候,她真是心都碎了。)

She was heartbroken when her dog died. (她養(yǎng)的狗死了,她傷心極了。)

Heartbroken fans camped outside his house in Beverly Hills. (他那些心碎的粉絲在他比弗利山莊的豪宅外面搭帳篷宿營(yíng),不肯離去。)

2. distressed/distraught : very upset because of something bad that has happened, so that you cannot think clearly

例:

Hannah was deeply distressed by the news. (聽到這個(gè)消息,漢娜非常傷心。)

She was very distressed when he left her. (他離開她的時(shí)候,她傷心欲絕。)

She was distressed to see he was crying. (看到他在哭,她非常傷心。)

3. devastated : extremely sad and shocked because something very bad has happened, and you feel that this has ruined your life or your plans

例:

The whole town was devastated by the tragedy, in which fourteen schoolchildren died. (十四名學(xué)生遇難,聽到這個(gè)噩耗,這個(gè)鎮(zhèn)的人都震驚了。)

4. unhappy : not happy, because you are in a situation, job, or relationship that you do not enjoy at all, and it seems likely to continue

例:

Neil was very unhappy at school. (尼爾在學(xué)校非常不開心。)

Her parents' divorce left her feeling confused and unhappy. (她父母的離異使她困惑不開心。)

desperately/deeply unhappy (=very unhappy)

She was desperately unhappy after Sean left her. (肖恩離開后,他非常不開心。)

I felt so unhappy about what he had said that I just sat down and cried. (聽他說了那些話,我很不開心,就坐那兒哭開了。)

5. upset : unhappy because something unpleasant or disappointing has happened, so that you feel shocked or you want to cry

例:

Don't be upset. I'm sure she didn't mean to be unkind. (別難過了,我敢肯定她不是故意那么兇的。)

The children were very upset when we told them that we wouldn't be going to Disneyland. (我們跟孩子們說去不了迪士尼了,他們非常難過。)

get upset

We'd better not tell Mum about what's happened. She'll only get upset. (我們最好不要告訴媽媽發(fā)生了什么事,那只會(huì)讓她難過。)

upset about

Liz is very upset about her uncle's death. (叔叔的死訊讓利茲很難過。)

upset that
