1. everywhere: in or to every part of a place or country

備注:美式英語(yǔ)的非正式場(chǎng)合中常用''every place''。

例:

The whole street was flooded - there was water everywhere. (整條街都被水淹了,到處都是水。)

Where did you find my keys? I've been looking everywhere for them. (你從哪兒找到我的鑰匙的?我到處找都沒(méi)找到。)

5. here, there and everywhere: in many different places, without any particular plan or pattern

6. nationwide: in every part of a country

例:

nationwide strike/demonstration/campaign

7. widespread: happening in many places - use this especially about problems or bad situations that affect many areas or many countries

例:

There has been widespread flooding in Germany, and the rivers are still rising. (德國(guó)全境都在鬧洪災(zāi),水位還在不斷上漲。)

Government corruption is widespread in the country. (這個(gè)國(guó)家到處可見(jiàn)政府部門的貪污腐敗。)
