“提建議”，有比較正式的說法，有比較日?？谡Z的說法，本文著重介紹一下口語說法。
1. What
about.../ How about...? （去……怎么樣？）
例：
How about playing basketball? （去打籃球怎么樣？）

2. What do you
say... （……如何/怎么樣？）
例：
（1）How about going to Europe this summer? What do you say?
??? （今年夏天去歐洲，你看怎么樣？）
（2）What do you say we split the two
sandwiches?（這兩個(gè)三明治我們一人吃一個(gè)怎么樣？）
（3）美劇《老友記》S02E02：
情境：Joey想約一個(gè)MM喝咖啡。
Joey: Listen, uh, what do you say I buy you that cup of
coffee now? （我現(xiàn)在去給你買那杯咖啡怎么樣？

3. If I were
you, I would...: used when giving advice and telling someone what
you think they should do （如果我是你，我會……）
注意：這里要用虛擬語氣。
例：
If I were you, I'd sell the car.（如果我是你，我就賣了那輛車。）
補(bǔ)充：跟這個(gè)句子很像的，還有一句“If it were me, I'd...”（ 如果換作是我，我會……）
例：《老友記》S02E07：
情境：Monica督促Chandler減肥，太嚴(yán)苛了，Chandler最后煩死，不干了！他想了個(gè)辦法刺激Monica，她彼時(shí)正遭受失業(yè)、失戀的雙重打擊。Chandler說：這要發(fā)生在我身上，我每天就只想睡覺了。最后Monica真被他哄得小睡了一會，不再逼他減肥了。從這個(gè)意義上說，這句也是表示建議的，“你何不像我一樣，睡一會？”
Chandler: I mean, if it were me, I think I'd have difficulty just getting out of bed
at all.

4. I was wondering if/whether...:
used to ask someone if they would like to do something表示“邀約”
例：
（1）We were wondering if you'd like to
come with us.（你們想跟我們一起去嗎？）
（2）I was wondering if you'd like to
come to dinner.（你們來我家吃飯，好嗎？）
（3）《老友記》S02E02：
情境：Joey第一次約那個(gè)MM下班后喝咖啡。
Joey：I was wondering if maybe after work you and I could go out grab a cup of coffee.（grab：表示“快快地吃、喝，不占用多少時(shí)間的”。）

情境：Rachel在咖啡店做侍應(yīng)，感恩節(jié)到了，她想向老板預(yù)支$100工資，好跟家人一起去度假?？纯此趺凑f。
Rachel: I know that I haven't worked here
very long, but I was wondering, do you think it would be possible if I got a
$100 advance on my salary?

5. What if: 怎么樣
例：
What if we move(d) the sofa over here?
Would that look better? （我們把沙發(fā)移到這兒怎么樣？比剛才好點(diǎn)嗎？）
備注：what if除了表示建議外，還可以用來詢問“怎么辦”：
What if the plan of yours fails, what then?
（你計(jì)劃失敗的話要怎么辦？）

6. 討論約定的時(shí)間、地點(diǎn)或東西的數(shù)量等等，口語中可以用一個(gè)簡單的say：
例：
Can you come to dinner? Say, 7:00? （你能來吃飯嗎？7:00怎么樣？）
If we put out, say, twenty chairs, would
that be enough? （搬……20張椅子出來，夠嗎？）
