跟某女士第一次約會吃飯，凈說些很學術、很無趣的事，又扯到什么狗坐飛機有沒有時差的問題。
Ross:
I'm just
saying
if dogs do experience jet lag, then, because of the whole seven dog
years to one human year thing, then, when a dog flies from New York to Los
Angeles, he doesn't just lose three hours, he loses like a week and a half.
（
我是說，如果狗有時差問題，人過一年相當于狗過七年，那么狗從紐約飛到洛杉磯，損失的不是三小時，而是十天。
）

從以上兩個例子看
be saying
的用法：它一般用在與別人的討論中，往往前面已經(jīng)說了一段話了，若想更好地表達自己的意思，后面就用
be saying
再來補充強調一下。
例：

I'm not saying
it's a bad idea, just
that we need to think about it.
（我不是說這個主意不好，但我們得仔細考慮。）
（2）
I'm just saying
it would be easier if we
made a copy.
（我只是覺得，如有有復印件，就更方便了。）

Teachers have to try to understand their students more,

what I'm saying
？（老師得更努力地去了解學生，你懂我的意思嗎？）
